By replacing the use of petroleum with corn glucose the production process uses fewer chemicals and dramatically reduces the reliance on fossil fuels.
This means that in comparison to Nylon, 63% less greenhouse gas emissions and 37% less energy is required for the production of this fibre.
Eco+ carpets made with Sorona (Triextra) are softer than other traditionally used carpet fibres, and due to the natural composition of the fibre, has a high level of stain resistance as it does not absorb moisture. Testing shows that this yarn is far more durable than Polyester and of equal durability to that of a Nylon carpet.
The process used to colour the fibre means that Eco+ is the most colourfast carpet on the market which means it is a great choice for carpeting rooms that have a lot of natural sunlight, particularly those on the coast.
